Lelystad Airport
Lelystad Airport celebrates it’s 50 years birhtday and will soon be ‘the new airport for the leisure traveler.’
Our journey goes back to 1973: when we set foot on (then) a grass runway just outside Lelystad. Pilots landed at Lelystad Airport via ‘Hotel Bravo’.
We have been part of Royal Schiphol Group since 1993. Lelystad Airport became Lelystad Airport and grew into a major airport for General Aviation. With 80,000 to 100,000 flight movements per year, we are the second largest airport in the Netherlands in terms of numbers.
Our journey is getting a new destination: Lelystad Airport will become an airport for large commercial air traffic. Chances are that by 2024 you will be flying from our airport to your holiday destination within Europe and other destinations around the Mediterranean.
The growth of Lelystad Airport also provides an economic boost in the region. The airport attracts companies, provides local and regional employment and strengthens the business climate. Regional airports are the future!
N.V. Luchthaven Lelystad is the operator of Lelystad Airport and is a fully owned subsidiary of Schiphol Group. N.V. Luchthaven Lelystad trades under the name Lelystad Airport.
