Lelystad Airport
celebrating its 50th anniversary

2023 is a special year for Lelystad Airport. The year we celebrate the airport’s 50th anniversary. A golden jubilee which we will not let pass by lightly.

Lelystad Airport’s journey began in 1973. At the time, it was little more than a grass runway. We were officially an airport though and pilots landed via ‘Hotel Bravo’.

In the next 50 years, Lelystad Airport has developed considerably. We are currently working together to create a new point of departure.

Lelystad Airport’s 50th anniversary is officially on 19 November 2023, but will be celebrating this special occasion throughout the year with spectacular, educational and special festivities. Keep an eye on our website and social media channels for more information about our anniversary.
