Airport Closure from September 2 to September 16, 2024

From September 2 at 06:00 AM until September 16 at 06:00 AM 2024, various renovations and major maintenance will take place at Lelystad Airport. These operations are necessary to maintain the airport’s safety for use. During this period, Lelystad Airport will be closed to air traffic, and the taxiways and the runway will not be available for use.

Maintenance Activities

Sierra Taxiway is being renovated, and the roof of the control tower is being renewed. In addition, other maintenance activities are occurring, including those on the blast fence, the runway, and the fencing around the airport. We aim to combine as many maintenance activities as possible to minimize future disruptions.

Contractors

The works on Sierra Taxiway are being carried out by Dura Vermeer, an experienced infrastructure contracting company.
Jorritsma Bouw, one of the largest construction companies in the northern Netherlands, is responsible for the renovation of the control tower.
