Flying drones at Lelystad Airport
What are the rules with regards to flying drones in the Lelystad Airport area?
As a general rule, it is illegal to fly a drone at or around airports in The Netherlands. This also applies to Lelystad Airport.
This ban applies to all recreational- and professional ROC-light drone activities.
For more information, including a map outlining the restricted areas, please visit the Government of the Netherlands website: https://www.rijksoverheid.nl/onderwerpen/drone.
Operators with a completed Remote Operating Certificate have to adhere to strict conditions for flying drones in the Lelystad Airport area. If they meet all legal requirements, they need to apply for their flight via the Operational Help Desk (OHD) of the Dutch Air Traffic Control (LVNL). Lelystad Airport is not part of this process.
