Lelystad Airport will close at 8:00 PM local time on November 6, 7, and 8, close at 6:00 PM local time on November 18 and will reopen at 9:00 AM local time on November 19.
On November 6, 7, and 8, the airport will close early due to a snow and ice control exercise. During this exercise, the operational and fire department staff will be trained in various aspects of winter operations. Given the limited occurrence of wintry precipitation days, the staff doesn’t frequently encounter the applicable procedures and associated vehicles. The airport’s fire department is divided into three shifts, which is why three training evenings are necessary. Training ensures that all our personnel are proficient.
Additionally, the airport will have adjusted closing and opening hours on November 18 and 19.
